I have always struggled with my weight. I was always doing every new diet that came along only to see the pounds come back on. Exercise was never something I did often because I found gyms to be intimidating and generally felt self-conscious in that type of environment. My son knew I wanted to lose weight and one afternoon, while we were out running errands, we stopped at Metro Fitness to give me a tour. From the start I noticed how friendly and helpful the staff was, not to mention how comfortable I felt. I left that day with motivation to get back in shape. Knowing I couldn't do it on my own, I sought the assistance of one of the Metro Fitness trainers to help get me started. I found Ashlea, and she is the absolute best. She works me hard, but has always been supportive and continues to get the best out of me.

When the opportunity came around to participate in the 42-Day challenge, I knew it would be a good jump-start to help me reach my goal. What impressed me the most was that it not only allowed me to try a variety of different exercises, but it included a focus on nutrition as well. What I didn't expect was the sense of accomplishment that it provided, or the friendships I would make. I found I had the ability to do things I didn't think I was capable of accomplishing and the ladies who took the challenge with me kept it fun and provided encouragement.

Although I haven't reached my end goal yet, I have lost 24 lbs and 6.5 inches off my waist!

I'm looking forward to continuing my weight loss journey and with the knowledge I've gained from the supportive Metro Fitness Team.
